Verizon Fios - Statistics and Technology

By

Verizon FiOS is another major cable service that has taken on a big transformation of what it once was. Unlike the traditional cable companies that require people to sit and wait for their service, Fios is on a fiber optic network. This means that not only speed is increased, but the amount of bandwidth that can be transferred is increased as well.

Verizon FiOS Installation:

One of the most important things to remember when you are using Verizon Fios though is that installation can take up to four to five hours. While this is a one time event, it is a statistic that cannot be forgotten. Make sure you are ready to stay home during the entire time, as a simple complication can add on even more time to your installation.

Verizon FiOS Availability:

There are many millions of homes that have the ability to connect with Fios, but how many have choosen to signup? According to Verizon FiOS's official statistics there are currently 3.1 million customers subscribing to Verizon's Fios internet service with just over 2 million subscribing to the television service. This is an amazing amount of customers considering how new that this service is!

Verizon FiOS Home DVR:

Another great thing about Fios is that it is one of Verizon's most profitable areas. Without it, Verizon might have had difficulty increasing the amount of customers that it has grown up to. People love the ability to go online and manage their DVR from anywhere as well as to watch their television from within any room in their home.

Verizon FiOS Video On Demand:

FiOS also offers one of the largest assortments of VOD or Video On Demand titles each and every month. There are currently more than 18,000 available with them changing month to month. You can also watch many of the selections in standard or high definition. There are currently 14.5 million homes and businesses that are eligible for Verizon Fios services. This is in sixteen different states and the District of Columbia. While all of these homes and businesses are eligible for some type of services, they are not eligible for all of the services, only 10.9 million homes and businesses are eligible to signup for the “triple play”.

Verizon FiOS Bundle:

Verizon is continuing to build out their services to allow for more customers to signup and get faster speeds of internet and more choices in television. There are currently 120 HD channels available through Fios television with speeds of up to 50 MBPS possible with the Fios internet. These speeds are hardly obtainable anywhere else!

Verizon FiOS Home Phone:

Fios phone services in addition to Verizon's other hard wired phone services connects over 1 billion calls across the United States. When you consider how many phone calls this is, it is just astounding that a company has the capacity. In addition, Verizon's Fios division as well as its other divisions have had 99.9% uptime. This is due in part to a network that has been sustained, maintained and grown to be one of the largest in the United States. Without some of these services, Fios would surely not be able to exist today! Make sure you check out the lastest Verizon FiOS Deals before you make your decision.
